Alison Moschetta - Founder

With an illustrious 25-year career in various Executive positions within the service industry, Alison Moschetta's journey took a profound turn in 2007 with the birth of her son, Lucca. Born with Rieger’s Syndrome and septicaemia, Lucca faced slim survival odds. His resilience prevailed, spending his initial months in Neonate. At 11, genetic tests revealed a terminal deletion of chromosome 6p25.3 to 6p25. This manifested as developmental delays, affecting the brain, eyes, hearing and skeletal issues. Alison's family navigated countless challenges, propelling her to research teaching methods and interventions extensively. L.U.C.C.A, born from her experiences, opened its doors on May 1, 2014. A dedicated parent of a special needs child, Alison empathizes with others, sharing the same intense love and concern for their children's well-being.

Ashley Heine - Admin, Social media, Sports Manager

Ashley Heine, our Admin, Social media and Sports Manager adds a vibrant touch to our team. With a background in sports psychology and firsthand experience with special needs, his calm demeanour enriches our community. With a background in sports psychology and an honors degree in sports science, brings a unique perspective shaped by his experience with athletes and children. Courses in child psychology, first aid certifications, and an assistant paramedic course underscore his commitment to holistic development. Living with a special needs brother, Ashley appreciates the daily challenges, recognizing the profound impact these children have. As the Admin/Social Media and Sports Manager, he exudes calmness, enriching the L.U.C.C.A team's dynamic. His presence is a delight for both children and parents, making him an integral part of our management team.


Ashley Heine - Admin, Social media, Sports Manager

Ashley Heine, our Admin, Social media and Sports Manager adds a vibrant touch to our team. Cherie Heine - Centre Manager

Cherie Heine brings over twelve years of educational expertise, deeply rooted in special needs and remedial education. Her multifaceted roles encompass teaching, curriculum development, IEP and Programme design, school-based support, counseling, managerial responsibilities, and admission assessments. Cherie's commitment revolves around creating an environment where every student thrives academically, vocationally, socially, and emotionally. Holder of a BA in Child and Family psychology, with an education major, and an Honours degree in psychology specializing in counseling, Cherie Heine has continually advanced her professional skills. Completing workshops in Makaton Sign Language, First Aid, Conscious Discipline, and TEACCH, she is dedicated to ongoing development. Her warmth and approachability extend to her professional demeanor, positioning her as a strong advocate for students and parents. Currently pursuing a PGCE in Foundation phase qualification, Mrs. Cherie Heine prioritizes student-family relationships, fostering open communication and supportive partnerships between school and home.

Allegra Moschetta - Receptionist

Allegra Moschetta, with an initial introduction to the special needs world through her younger brother Lucca, has been an integral part of the Lucca team for over three years, undertaking various roles. Initially a class assistant, her passion for art led her in a different direction for personal growth. Now, she returns as LUCCA school's Receptionist in the mornings, ensuring a safe entry for children from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Excited to reunite with the Lucca family, Allegra looks forward to connecting with parents and their wonderful children, bringing her warmth and dedication to the school once again.

UZ graduate, certified in primary education and special education, with 16 years in mainstream and 14 years in Special Needs Classes, specializing in visual impairment and multiple disabilities.

Agnes

ECDE Diploma, 16 years in foundation phase education, leadership at Progressive Bridging and Johannesburg School for the Blind.

Abyshai

UZ graduate in primary and special education (Hearing Impairment). 16 years in Zimbabwean upper primary, 3 years in Special Needs, and 7 years in South African Intermediate Phase.

Catherine

B.Ed in Foundation Phase Teaching (IIE), experienced with learners facing barriers,
including Autism, ADD, ADHD, and Cerebral Palsy.

Debbie

B.Sc. Special Needs Education (Zimbabwe Open University, 2005) and Diploma in Education (University of Zimbabwe, Mutare Teachers College, 1998).
